I think its only fitting to use my first post to introduce myself and outline what I hope to achieve in this blog. So first of all my name is Annie Collins, I am a proud Welsh woman who lives in Merthyr Tydfil when I am not in my halls of residence for University. I am currently 19 years of age and I am a Primary School Student Teacher at the University of South Wales. Teaching has been my dream career since I was around 9 years of age when one of my own Primary School teachers made me realise learning could actually be an enjoyable experience. I still find it unbelievable that I am in my second year of University on an absolutely fantastic course with my chosen career right around the corner.

So the purpose of my blog is mainly a place for me to document my experiences as a Student Teacher. I will be evaluating my own ideas that I use in the classroom and how my students engage with my lessons. I am already aware that as a Student Teacher, not every one of my future lessons are going to be amazing and capture every one of my students interest at first, but hopefully through this blog any lesson that did not go so well can help improve my future plans. I am also hoping to evaluate other teaching strategies I have observed that I find worked well. By documenting these finding I hope for them to have a positive effect on my future teaching practice as it gives me a chance to evaluate and reflect in order to improve my own teaching.
If I am lucky enough to get and viewers on here, I hope that what I write in the future will have a positive impact in your own teaching. Feel free to borrow any of my ideas because after all, teaching is a profession that relies on the sharing of ideas.
I have created a professional Twitter account where I will also be sharing my ideas and getting involved with relevant chats including #ittchat and #ADEchat. Please feel free to follow me and ask any questions:
