Well, it has been a while since I last wrote a post here!
It has been another crazy year especially in regards to University and developing skills in my professional development. I still can not believe that in just over 2 weeks time I embark on my final year of University, the last two years have passed in a blink of the eye.
Since I last blogged I had a great opportunity to get involved in a project with Mat Pullen and the University of South Wales ‘Bringing Digital Competency to Life.’ It was a fantastic project to be a part of. Each group was given a school, year group and a topic we had to teach over 2 lessons a week for 3 weeks. As a team we then planned lessons around that topic while in cooperating the Digital Competency Framework where appropriate to enhance the students learning. The project was a great success and I thoroughly enjoyed working with my team and the children and staff. If you are interested in finding out a bit more about our project and the results it had with learners, Mat Pullen has published an ebook on the project here – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/book/bringing-digital-competence-to-life/id1266432310?mt=11
Over the last few weeks I have been preparing for my final year, I have even invested in an iPad Pro and Apple Keyboard to ensure I can stay organised on the go, which is a big must for me. It feels like a lifetime ago that I was last in a classroom and taking on the responsibility of the class teacher with my own class, but I am overly excited to get back in the classroom with my students and share and gain experiences with other members of staff.
I created this blog this year in order to track and share my professional development and experiences in the classroom and University Lectures. I will admit I did not blog as much is the previous months as i would have liked to due lack of time and ability, but watch this space I am determined to write at least once a week this academic year and with the new iPad this is going to be even easier!
I look forward to sharing my experiences with you throughout my final year and would love to hear and share ideas where possible so feel free to comment. In the meantime follow my twitter @MissCollinsUSW where I will be tweeting daily.
